🦴 Department of Orthopedics

National Key Clinical Specialty & ERAS Pilot Unit

The Department of Orthopedics is a National Key Clinical Specialty and a pilot unit for Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) in Orthopedics. It ranks among the top in China for comprehensive strength. The department has four subspecialties: Spine Surgery, Joint Surgery, Traumatology, and Musculoskeletal Oncology. Equipped with advanced facilities such as O-arm navigation, spinal endoscopy, and surgical microscopes, the department has pioneered several first-in-China procedures and takes the lead in formulating clinical diagnosis and treatment guidelines as well as technical regulations.

Advantages & Clinical Features

Cryothermal Ablation for Bone Tumors

Pioneer in China to adopt cryothermal ablation for radicular pain caused by spinal metastases and serves as the training base for cryothermal ablation of bone tumors of the International Society of Cryosurgery. Combines deepfreezing and high-temperature thermal ablation to precisely ablate tumors while protecting nerves and blood vessels.

Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery & Intelligent Technology

World’s first posterior percutaneous transforaminal endoscopic debridement for upper thoracic tuberculosis. First in China to adopt Unilateral Biportal Endoscopy (UBE). Robot-assisted spine surgery, O-arm navigation, and threedimensional correction for scoliosis — featuring minimal trauma, rapid recovery, and low complications.

Precision Joint Replacement & Sports Injury Repair

Skilled in complex total hip and knee arthroplasty, unicondylar replacement, osteotomy for knee preservation, and minimally invasive arthroscopic treatment for shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee, and ankle. Innovative bionic materials include rotator cuff reconstruction with 3D-printed customized prostheses.
