The Liver Transplantation Center was established in 2000. It is a national key clinical specialty accredited by the National Health Commission, and one of the first batch of liver transplantation training bases in China (the only one in Northwest China). The center has carried out various types of liver transplantation, including conventional orthotopic liver transplantation, piggyback liver transplantation, reduced-size liver transplantation, combined liver-kidney transplantation, living donor liver transplantation, dual donor liver transplantation (the 3rd case performed in China), ABO-incompatible liver transplantation, re-transplantation, and split/liver transplantation. As of December 31, 2025, a total of 1,816 liver transplantations have been completed.

Pediatric Living Donor Liver Transplantation
First case of living-related liver transplantation for a test-tube baby successfully completed in China. More than 10 cases performed with youngest patient being 6 months old. All patients currently alive and healthy.
Laparoscopic-Assisted Liver Transplantation
In 2022, successfully performed 10 cases of whole liver transplantation using magnetic-assisted rapid vascular anastomosis technique under laparoscopic assistance for the first time worldwide. Shortens anhepatic phase, reduces surgical trauma, marking entry into the era of minimally invasive whole liver transplantation.
